Why was Kobe Bryant named to the 1st All -Defensive team? Was Kobe a "revolving door" this season?

Kobe got it on reputation. Clearly, his defense isn't that great anymore, but I guess people aren't willing to admit it. He doesn't even guard the opposing teams best swingman, Artest does.
