Is this right? (-40)(-8)= 5 ?

when i check the back of the book it says: the answer is [C (-5)] bc in division, if the signs are dif. the quotient is negative: (-40) (+8)= -5. BUT look!! here is shows it as positive 8, not negative 8 like in the original questions. so is there something im missing? im i suppose to switch it to a positive? if so why? i don't understand. or maybe its a typo?
